I was tagged in my friend's blog to write a post featuring 15 fun facts all about ME!
Lets see here...
1. I love to sleep late. Mr. Bo and I both do. Our typical Saturday doesn't begin until about 11:00 when we finally roll our butts out of bed to eat "breakfast."
2. I love garlic, onions, and really spicy food.
3. Before I met Mr. Bo I used to be really immature, and quite judgemental. Most of my friendships and relationships pre-Bo could be summed up in one word: drama. I snapped out of that real quick when I realized he wasn't about to put up with any of it! Sometimes I feel like a different person when I think back to how I was, and how I acted 5 years ago. Now I have a different view of life, people, and how to deal with both. But or course my human nature still gets the best of me sometimes.
4. I am a hot head. I have an extremely quick temper, which is too bad for Mr. Bo since he is probably one of the most laid back people I've ever met.
5. I hate it when people mistreat, or neglect their pets. Hate. It. Why did you even get a pet in the first place if you didn't want to take care of it?
6. I think I am addicted to TV. Not necessarily watching it, but always having it on for the noise. I have slept with the TV on for years. Plus, I'm really lazy, so when I get home at night most of the time all I want to to do is plant myself on the couch and allow my brain to turn in to boob-tube mush. Sad.
7. I take way too much time getting ready in the morning. When I'm not going to work (which I typically don't get fixed up for at all...I even wait to brush my teeth until I get there so I don't have to do it before I leave), I can take up to two hours to shower, put on my make up, and straighten my hair.
8. I have horrible skin. I hate it. I have had acne since fifth grade, and it only seems to be getting worse as the years go on. Not to mention my face is about as shiny as the hood of a freshly waxed car. I was even asked one time by a guy if it was on purpose, and if I did something special to my face to make it so shiny. Not cool, dude. Not cool.
9. My cat Dinah is one of my favorite living creatures here on God's green earth. She's fat, fluffy, and I just want to eat her up!
10. While the Golden Girl's remains my favorite show of all time, my favorite theme song of all time is this.
11. I worry way too much. I worry about everything. Web MD is my enemy.
12. While I tend to complain about our finances, in reality Mr. Bo and I are extremely blessed, and I take pride in the fact that we do it all. on. our. own.
13. In our lifetime Mr. Bo and I hope to make it to: Costa Rica (where Mr. Bo lived one summer during college), Jamaica, Amsterdam, and Northern California Wine Country, all the way down to Tijuana.
14. We also dream of living in a much warmer climate, preferably near a beach. The only thing that has kept us from doing so is wanting to stay near our families.
15. I have yet to figure out what I want to do with my life, aside from having children. In fact, I'm not even close to figuring it out, mostly because I refuse to be stuck in a job I hate. Any suggestions?

Shoo Fly, Don't Bother Me!
This morning I awoke to beautiful sunlight beaming through my window. It seemed to me like the perfect day to eat my breakfast outside. While sitting on my back patio, watching a cardinal tweeting away on the fence, one of these started buzzing around my head...
...causing me to spill milk and Special K all over myself and my dog.
Later on I thought the weather was perfect for having all the windows open in our house...that was until one of these flew in....
I'm not afraid to swat these, but they sure are annoying!
Today I was reminded how much I love spring. Unfortunatley I was also reminded how much I hate the insects and bugs that come along with it.

I can never get up the nerve to get close enough to actually swat one of these things....so I switched the nozzles of the multipurpose cleaner and the windex to "stream" and sprayed them both simultaniously, (from a comfortable distance away), straight at the disgusting monster. That did the trick.
Later on I realized that there were about ten of these buzzing around my house....
I'm not afraid to swat these, but they sure are annoying!

Spring Break: They Just Don't Make em' Like They Used To
Well it looks like Mother Nature is kind enough, once again, to bless us with yet another spring. Mr. Bo and I kicked off the season with a relatively uneventful, yet wonderful and relaxing spring break from work. We had a pretty tough March financially (our checking account got down to $3.82. Yipes!), so we had a low key, inexpensive week. We were pretty bummed to not be able to travel this year like we have in the past. Last year we spent the week in sunny AZ visiting Mr. Bo's family, and it was wonderful. Here's a look back....

We really missed seeing that side of the family this year, but they will be coming to see us this summer, and we couldn't be more excited!
Anyway, we made the most of our week at home and just enjoyed being together. We spent a lot of our evenings playing old school board games. We started with Scrabble.
With words like "to" and "hi," the competition was pretty intense. I think Mr. Bo won.
Later in the week we played two games of Monopoly. The first game went pretty quick, due to my streak of bad luck. Darn you Monopoly Jail! The second game lasted a while longer, but it's a game I'm still pretty bitter about it.
I lost.
I don't want to talk about it.
On Tuesday two of my best friends from high school, Mandy and Michelle, came to town for a visit. We had a great time together. We all live so far apart now (Michelle lives in Tennessee, and Mandy lives in Germany!), so it's great when we can all get together.
On Friday I celebrated my birthday! That's right, I'm an April Fools baby! I got some money for my birthday from my family, so after a delicious waffle brunch at my Grandma and Grandpa's house here in town with two of my cousins, Mr. Bo and I went shopping. I got some new spring/summer clothes that I cannot wait to wear. That evening Mr. Bo's sister and her friend came to town and we all went to dinner for some delicious Thai food. Yum, yum, yummy!
Saturday night we spent at my other Grandma's house. She only lives about an hour away, but we still do not get to see her much. I loved being there, and was very sad when it was time to leave on Sunday afternoon. But when we got home my mood was brightened by the fact that the weather was so beautiful. We spent some time outside, just enjoying the sun and the breeze, and making plans for our back yard this spring (including a hammock!).

A Quick Catch Up
Two things happened last week that I feel are blog worthy, but I'm feeling quite lazy today so I'm gonna make this short and sweet.
First, Mr. Bo turned 30! Since he has been so busy with baseball lately, we had a small celebration at home, just us two.

Mr. Bo got lots o' cash money from the fam'. I got him shoelaces and a Kit Kat bar, since MLB 2K11 was not available for Wii yet....oh, and also because I have no money. :)
Then on Friday Adi got married!

With so much fun last week, it's no wonder I'm so tired this week!

Live Simply, Live Well
I know that DIY is all the rage in Blog world right now, but I've never really considered myself a crafty person, therefore not really a DIY girl. But as I was doing some light cleaning the other day, I began looking around my home, when it suddenly hit me...I AM a DIY girl! You see, I am the victim of two very unfortunate circumstances: I'm, well..."economically challenged.," and I'm extremely lazy. That is why for years I have not only been creating my own household decor, but also doing it in the easiest and cheapest ways possible. So in an attempt to fit in with the blogging housewives revolution, I decided I would post some of the "DIY projects" I've done over the years.
Therefore, it is with great pleasure that I give you...

The Lazy Woman's Guide to DIY Design
I found this green bottle in a box of left overs after an estate sale. They were going to be garbage within the hour, so I decided to take a peak. I took this bottle home, put some twigs in it, and voila!

I also picked out these knobs and put them on myself!
I just made this last week. I bought a grapevine wreath for $3.00 and these dried flowers, then glued the flowers to the wreath. Easy cheesy. I wanted to hang it on our front door, but it looked a little small, so it hangs in the bedroom now.
I bought this Ladies Home Journal magazine cover from October 1926 at an antique store. I framed it, and now it sits waiting for me to take ten seconds out of my life to hang it on the wall.
You are about to find out that I use spray paint...a lot. These two matching "vases" used be hung with fishing line on some sort of weird ceramic wind chime-type-thing. They hung upside down like balloons. I cut them off the fishing line and spray painted them from red and yellow to a satin white. Now they sit on the back of my stove.
I love, love, love my shutters. I found these shutters in a pile outside my sister's apartment. They were white, chipping, and covered in dirt. I took them home, sanded and cleaned them, then spray painted them with this semi-gloss color (I believe it's called paprika). I have a set hanging in the living room, and another in the entryway.
This mirror was given to me by a friend. The frame was a really tacky gold, so I (surprise), sprayed it with a glossy black paint and hung it in my dining room.
My dining room table was also given to me by a friend. When I got it, the wrought iron was painted brown, and the seats were upholstered in tan corduroy. I reupholstered the seats, and after taking steel wool to the wrought iron, spray painted it glossy black.
The dresser in our guest bedroom used to be blonde. We spray painted it glossy black. moving on....
As a wedding gift my uncle made us two matching night stands, which he gave to us unfinished so we could paint them how we wanted (a great gift!) We chose an egg shell-ish white semi-gloss.
I also picked out these knobs and put them on myself!
These next few don't really count as "DIY" but I think they are neat, so I'll show you anyway.

This is an ad I found in an old magazine.
I found these colorful pictures in a conservation magazine. I bought two matching frames at Hobby Lobby (which has had the same 50% off frames sale going on for about three years now), and hung them in our entryway.

This Week in Entertainment
Remember this post? Well, I don't know what's going on, but Mr. Bo and I went OUT to a movie AGAIN. For the second time in 2011, we dared to venture away from the comfort of our Netflix Que, this time to see "I Love You Phillip Morris." It's about two gay men who meet in prison and fall in love....Yep. It's also a true story! Perhaps it was just the novelty of watching it on the big screen, but I really enjoyed it. Then again, why would I not like this movie? It has all the right ingredients for an enjoyable cinematic experience: Humor, an interesting plot, a surprising twist at the end, and two of the most underrated actors in Hollywood today. That's right, I'm talking about Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. I love Jim Carrey not only because he is hysterically funny, but also because he is such a versatile actor (ehh hem, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"). I love Ewan McGregor because, well, he's just so yummy. He can sing, he can dance, and he sends my heart racing every time he flashes those pearly whites.
Earlier in the week we also watched "Catfish," a documentary with a story so crazy, I wasn't sure it was even true. Come to find out from watching the DVD extras that it is a true story, which made me like it so much more than when I thought it was just a decent movie with mediocre acting. It's a story that involves Facebook, love, deception, and mystery. See it.
For our most recent "Pizza and Movie Night," Mr. Bo and I watched a movie with a plot also involving Facebook, love, deception, and mystery. This time we went for the more obvious of the two, "The Social Network." I don't think I need to tell anyone that this was a great movie (you'd have to have been living under a rock for the past 9 months to not know that)....but it truly was a great movie. As far as Oscar noms' go however, I liked "Black Swan" better. Mr. Bo enjoyed "The Social Network" more. Go figure.
