Things You Probably Don't Really Care to Know

I was tagged in my friend's blog to write a post featuring 15 fun facts all about ME!

Lets see here...

1. I love to sleep late. Mr. Bo and I both do. Our typical Saturday doesn't begin until about 11:00 when we finally roll our butts out of bed to eat "breakfast."

2. I love garlic, onions, and really spicy food.

3. Before I met Mr. Bo I used to be really immature, and quite judgemental. Most of my friendships and relationships pre-Bo could be summed up in one word: drama. I snapped out of that real quick when I realized he wasn't about to put up with any of it!  Sometimes I feel like a different person when I think back to how I was, and how I acted 5 years ago. Now I have a different view of life, people, and how to deal with both. But or course my human nature still gets the best of me sometimes.

4. I am a hot head. I have an extremely quick temper, which is too bad for Mr. Bo since he is probably one of the most laid back people I've ever met.

5. I hate it when people mistreat, or neglect their pets. Hate. It. Why did you even get a pet in the first place if you didn't want to take care of it?

6. I think I am addicted to TV. Not necessarily watching it, but always having it on for the noise. I have slept with the TV on for years. Plus, I'm really lazy, so when I get home at night most of the time all I want to to do is plant myself on the couch and allow my brain to turn in to boob-tube mush. Sad.

7. I take way too much time getting ready in the morning. When I'm not going to work (which I typically don't get fixed up for at all...I even wait to brush my teeth until I get there so I don't have to do it before I leave), I can take up to two hours to shower, put on my make up, and straighten my hair.

8. I have horrible skin. I hate it. I have had acne since fifth grade, and it only seems to be getting worse as the years go on. Not to mention my face is about as shiny as the hood of a freshly waxed car. I was even asked one time by a guy if it was on purpose, and if I did something special to my face to make it so shiny. Not cool, dude. Not cool.

9. My cat Dinah is one of my favorite living creatures here on God's green earth. She's fat, fluffy, and I just want to eat her up!

10. While the Golden Girl's remains my favorite show of all time, my favorite theme song of all time is this.

11. I worry way too much. I worry about everything. Web MD is my enemy.

12. While I tend to complain about our finances, in reality Mr. Bo and I are extremely blessed, and I take pride in the fact that we do it all. on. our. own.

13.  In our lifetime Mr. Bo and I hope to make it to: Costa Rica (where Mr. Bo lived one summer during college), Jamaica, Amsterdam, and Northern California Wine Country, all the way down to Tijuana.

14. We also dream of living in a much warmer climate, preferably near a beach. The only thing that has kept us from doing so is wanting to stay near our families.

15. I have yet to figure out what I want to do with my life, aside from having children. In fact, I'm not even close to figuring it out, mostly because I refuse to be stuck in a job I hate. Any suggestions?

Shoo Fly, Don't Bother Me!

This morning I awoke to beautiful sunlight beaming through my window. It seemed to me like the perfect day to eat my breakfast outside. While sitting on my back patio, watching a cardinal tweeting away on the fence, one of these started buzzing around my head...

...causing me to spill milk and Special K all over myself and my dog.

Later on I thought the weather was perfect for having all the windows open in our house...that was until one of these flew in....

I can never get up the nerve to get close enough to actually swat one of these things....so I switched the nozzles of the multipurpose cleaner and the windex to "stream" and sprayed them both simultaniously, (from a comfortable distance away), straight at the disgusting monster. That did the trick.

Later on I realized that there were about ten of these buzzing around my house....

I'm not afraid to swat these, but they sure are annoying!

Today I was reminded how much I love spring. Unfortunatley I was also reminded how much I hate the insects and bugs that come along with it.

HAPPY SPRING!

Spring Break: They Just Don't Make em' Like They Used To

Well it looks like Mother Nature is kind enough, once again, to bless us with yet another spring. Mr. Bo and I kicked off the season with a relatively uneventful, yet wonderful and relaxing spring break from work. We had a pretty tough March financially (our checking account got down to $3.82. Yipes!), so we had a low key, inexpensive week. We were pretty bummed to not be able to travel this year like we have in the past. Last year we spent the week in sunny AZ visiting Mr. Bo's family, and it was wonderful. Here's a look back....

Our niece. We love her and miss her.

Spring Training Game: Angels vs. Indians

We really missed seeing that side of the family this year, but they will be coming to see us this summer, and we couldn't be more excited!

Anyway, we made the most of our week at home and just enjoyed being together. We spent a lot of our evenings playing old school board games. We started with Scrabble.

With words like "to" and "hi," the competition was pretty intense. I think Mr. Bo won.

Later in the week we played two games of Monopoly. The first game went pretty quick, due to my streak of bad luck. Darn you Monopoly Jail! The second game lasted a while longer, but it's a game I'm still pretty bitter about it.
I lost.
I don't want to talk about it.

On Tuesday two of my best friends from high school, Mandy and Michelle, came to town for a visit. We had a great time together. We all live so far apart now (Michelle lives in Tennessee, and Mandy lives in Germany!), so it's great when we can all get together.

On Friday I celebrated my birthday! That's right, I'm an April Fools baby! I got some money for my birthday from my family, so after a delicious waffle brunch at my Grandma and Grandpa's house here in town with two of my cousins, Mr. Bo and I went shopping. I got some new spring/summer clothes that I cannot wait to wear. That evening Mr. Bo's sister and her friend came to town and we all went to dinner for some delicious Thai food. Yum, yum, yummy!
Saturday night we spent at my other Grandma's house. She only lives about an hour away, but we still do not get to see her much. I loved being there, and was very sad when it was time to leave on Sunday afternoon. But when we got home my mood was brightened by the fact that the weather was so beautiful. We spent some time outside, just enjoying the sun and the breeze, and making plans for our back yard this spring (including a hammock!).
